Supply, installation and maintenance
UPS is a backup power source that kicks in when your computer or other hardware detects loss of its primary source of power, or to protect kit from the effects of power surges.
We supply and install all leading brands of UPS batteries and systems, and offer a full maintenance service to make sure your UPS is ready and able to kick in when it really matters.
24/7/365 callouts
Our dedicated support desk is open 24/7, giving you complete peace of mind that if your UPS systems ever fail, there's always someone ready and able to help you.
Our UK-based first line response team is expert and friendly and will do everything possible to get your system back into an operative condition as quickly as possible.
Battery replacement
UPS batteries are generally designed to last up to 10 years, subject to temperature and number of cycles. If yours have been in place for that long, or you aren't even sure how old your battery is, talk to us about a battery replacement.
We'll test your battery and confirm its condition, talk you through the replacement options and give you advice on keeping your battery performing at optimum levels.
We provide batteries from Yuasa, Power Sonic, Enersys, Fiamm and North Star.
Battery testing
Depending on their type, age and condition, UPS batteries may need to be reconditioned rather than replaced.
We can test the condition and performance of your batteries, assessing charging levels, response capabilities and environmental conditions, to give you a full assessment of your system's overall health and its ability to safeguard your hardware and operations when it matters most.
We use state of the art resistance and impedance testing equipment to indicate the state of the battery's chemistry and whilst this is fairly reliable as a method of test, the only real test is an "On Load" discharge test with thermal imaging report. This way we can check everything from the integrity of the connections right through to the discharge and recharge capacity. We use data logging equipment and even remote monitoring to help us to predict battery failures, before the occur.
Load bank testing
How often do you check that your backup power supplies are up to the job of keeping your systems running in an emergency, especially if the load they need to support has increased since the last check?
Talk to us about carrying out load bank testing on your UPS, to validate the correct operational performance and battery autonomy of your UPS system.
We'll test the UPS and generator under load conditions, usually during preventative maintenance, but if you're concerned about your system's capabilities, please get in touch to arrange a test.
From 10kVA to 10MVA
The scale of your hardware will determine the size of UPS you need.
We supply and install UPS from 10kVA right up to 10MVA.
As a guide, a 10kVA system will power a medium-size operation such as an office or data centre, while you'll need a high voltage 10MVA supply for enterprise-scale operations and IT stacks.
Long and short term hire
If your budget doesn't extend to the purchase of your UPS, or you have short term needs only, talk to us about UPS hire.
Whether for the long or short term, to try before you buy or simply to provide backup for the duration of a project, choose from our wide range of fully serviced UPS.
We'll deliver to site, ensure it's always operable and provide responsive customer service for full peace of mind.
Bypass, battery breakers, fuse cabinets
Ongoing protection and maintenance of your UPS is critical to ensure it's always primed for action.
To facilitate this, we can design, build and install the following:
- Bypass panel - a manual switch that reroutes the circuit to allow for servicing or battery replacement
- Battery breaker - an automatic switch that protects the circuit from damage due to overload or short circuit
- Fuse cabinet - low voltage distribution cabinet to store spare fuses
Containerised UPS and switchgear builds
If inside space is tight, or you're working on an external site, we can build you a containerised UPS or switchgear housing, fully tested and commissioned, and with all the functionality and security you'd expect.
We've years of experience in building containerised power systems, with wide-ranging applications from traditional on-site power backup through to today's electric vehicle charging points.
Talk to us about your ideas and we'll work with you to turn them into reality.
IP and gas-rated UPS enclosures
We know that different situations call for different solutions. That's why we'll always work with you to design and install the right UPS solution for your needs, whether it's a standard, modified or completely custom-built model.
Considerations include the IP (Ingress Protection) rating of the enclosure (the potential for ingress by solids or liquids) - the larger the number, the greater the level of protection. As a guide, a standard enclosure typically has a IP rating of IP20 but a more industrial setting with environmental extremes may call for IP54.
